As Starflight followed her, he heard the sound of Fatespeaker dropping something large down on his desk, and he ran to it reaching out once as he neared the familiar wooden edge. He reached out in front of him, to show that he wanted to help, but Fatespeaker only said 'No, no, I'm okay,' in response, and continued to carry whatever it was she was holding towards his desk. 'Here!' Fatespeaker's voice suddenly echoed from the entrance to the library, and Starflight could hear from the noises she was making that she was struggling with something heavy. His one consolation was that it seemed that now he was going to find out at last just what she'd been up to over the past few days. He hadn't said anything to her, as he knew she would likely worry about him, but he still missed her company. She still came to rest with him at night and read through a scroll of his choosing, but Starflight was beginning to find himself feeling rather lonely without the constant sound of her voice nearby as he worked. Although Fatespeaker was normally by his side or at least in his general vicinity for most hours of the day, in recent times she'd been taking longer and longer absences to work on some unknown project of hers, and she seemed oddly reluctant to speak about it whenever he asked what she'd been up to. He hadn't seen.well, heard her sounding this excited in a long time. Starflight was quite surprised by this sudden burst of energy from Fatespeaker, and listened as the sound of her footsteps echoed in the entrance to the library before disappearing down the hall. She sees that she doesn't, and later informs him she thinks of him as a brother, and she wants Starflight to move on and choose Fatespeaker instead.Taking place some time after the events of 'The Brightest Night', 'Fatespeaker's Gift' is a short story about Starflight and Fatespeaker's relationship. During this period of time, Sunny thinks about if she really loves Starflight as more then just friends. Sunny worries for him, but is kidnapped by three NightWings before she can confront him. He informs her that he loves her, and Sunny expresses discomfort.Īfter the battle, Starflight becomes blind. Fatespeaker and Starflight grow a strong bond while they explore the island.Īfter quite some time, Starflight makes his way back to Sunny right before the final showdown between Glory and Queen Battlewinner. Fatespeaker reminds Starflight of Sunny, which only makes him miss her more. He meets another NightWing while he is kidnapped on the NightWing Island named Fatespeaker. He is shattered by this, and he constantly worries if Sunny and the other Dragonets of Destiny are okay. In book four of Wings Of Fire, Starflight is taken by the NightWings. Sunny admires Starflight for his wits, and Starflight admired Sunny for her endless support towards him. They have grown up together which has only improved their already amazing bond. Starflight often has dreams about or relating to Sunny. Starflight has been in love with Sunny ever since they were still young dragonets back in the cave. Sunny then tells him to pursue another NightWing, named Fatespeaker. In The Dark Secret, Starflight says he loves Sunny, but in The Brightest Night, Sunny reveals she doesn't love Starflight the way he does.
